Nikolai Kapustin (1937- ), member of the USSR Composers' Union since 1980, gradated from the class of Prof. A.B. Goldenweiser at the Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in 1961. In the late 50s he had made himself a name as an excellent jazz pianist (improvising in the manner of bebop), arranger and composer; reputation to his numerous - and highly successful - appearances with his own quintet as well as with Yury Saulsky's Central Artists' Club Dig Band, Moscow. ...(to be continued)
